Play Test Archives
This content represents a few of the original play test forms and tools that were used
in creating the system. Some of them have been re-created from another document format into a web based format for easy
management here.
Standard Archive Usage
Note: These are archive materials and not to be used with current "play testing" evaluations.
These materials are provided for historical reference purposes only. Do not submit forms or print and

Alpha Play Test
Presented below are the test resources in order used. Admittedly, it was skimpy on
the official side of things, but most of this process was notes taken during the play testing.
What materials were saved from these session that could be found has been either scanned or transposed.
This represents an incomplete picture of the testing sessions.
Beta 1 Play Test
Beta 1 was a long, closed play test. While the site was up and open to the public, it was unadvertised and unpublished.
Beta 2 Play Test
Beta 3 - Combat Only Play Test
In 2005 we had competing designer view points on combat. A great deal of time was used (1.5 years)
to shake out a new combat approach. A LOT of material was generated during this time,
producing a huge brach of archived combat play test materials.
During this time, the release schedule was bumped so many times as to make it seem ridiculous.
A lot of intertia was lost, the game should have been released in 2006... instead, it would not be released until 2009.
This burnt out a lot of play tersters. The end result was an ever- changing system - as the funadmentals of combat shifted, so did action resolution, and that
cascaded out to everything else. It was a painful period where we lost a lot of interest.
